Black Fat Femme Storytellers Who Paved the Way
Black Fat Femme Storytellers Who Paved the Way
It’s no secret that Black female writers have been the unsung pioneers of Black storytelling for centuries. From past to present, these vanguards have shifted culture and conversation through carefully crafting characters and narratives that explore societal structures and how Black women and girls are perceived and experienced overtime.
Voices such as Toni Morrison, Octavia Butler, and Maya Angelou are a continuous reminder that when Black women step into their power, they have the potential to inspire generations and cultures to come. In honor of Black history month, we are sharing some of our favorite fat Black women who have paved the way for us to share our stories.
Books we recommend
